Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will provide administrative and financial support services. Industrial Communications is seeking an energetic and career-driven individual to join our team. This newly created Accountant position is in Marshfield, MA.

The Accountant is responsible for performing general ledger accounting functions including preparation and posting of journal entries, financial and account analysis, financial statement preparation, Year End Workpapers and other Accounting Department duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
  • Track and record daily bank deposits
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with month and year end processes
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets of financials and other spreadsheets as needed
  • Act as a backup for A/R and A/P and cash posting as needed
  • Track property tax records
  • File and pay sales taxes for MA, NH, RI, ME, FL, & CO
  • Assist with audits
  • Track Project Management and Inventory Management System processes
  • Assist with the development of new financial databases
  • Monthly Revenue and Expense Account analysis
  • Special Projects and duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years applicable experience

Skills/Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Expert knowledge of Excel required.
  • Must possess excellent data entry skills.
  • Experience in interacting with all levels and departments within a company including working with management and field personnel
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and customer information.
  • Knowledge of office functions.
  • Must work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team.
  • Strong multi-tasking, follow-through, and organizational skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail under strict guidelines.

The Accountant position is not remote and is located in Marshfield, MA. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch
